The Walking Dead really started losing characters at a much more rapid pace in Season 3, and we’ve got every named character right here in the graveyard!

For many fans of The Walking Dead, Season 3 was when it first really proved that nobody is safe. Sure, Shane and Dale had kicked the bucket towards the end of Season 2. But just a few episodes into Season 3, we’re already saying goodbye to major characters and the deaths never stop coming.

With that being said, let’s go back through all of the named character deaths in the show’s third season, so we can pay our respects to those lost that year (if you’d like, you can check out Season 1 and Season 2 first).

Name: Big Tiny

Episode Introduced: Seed (Season 3, Episode 1)

Episode Died: Sick (Season 3, Episode 2)

Last Words: “I’m telling you, I don’t feel anything. It’s just a scratch. I can keep fighting! Guys, I’m fine! Just… I’m fine. Look at me, I’m not changing into one of those things.”

When Rick and the others found the prison and chose it as a place to live, they found a group of prisoners holed up inside. Though there’s friction between the factions, they all decide to work together, at least for now, to clear out the walkers from the corridors.

The biggest of the prisoners, Big Tiny, ends up splitting away from the group for just a moment. Soon after he is scratched on the back with the jagged, exposed bone of a walker. Though he wasn’t bitten, the exposed wound of the scratch could mean that Big Tiny is infected. Nobody really knows, and they start to discuss exactly how to handle this.

However, before a decision can be made, Tomas kills Big Tiny by bludgeoning him in the head several times. I guess the good news for Big Tiny is, either way, now he won’t be turning into a walker.
